As a student at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Savannah, GA, I majored in Graphic Design. While there, I began to take the path of digital courses, focusing on product design and some foundational UX principles. By the time I left, I knew that I would likely become a hybrid visual and UX designer, working on products that I felt could improve people's lives.
SCAD had a program called the Collaborative Learning Center (CLC), where business came to SCAD with a project that students could do to get more real-world experience in their field. I was lucky enough to participate in three of these projects, with Kohl's, the Graphic Artists Guild, and Hewlett-Packard. Our project with HP brought them back for multiple project after ours to continue the work that we had started.
